We recently received the following update and pictures from Joshua, pastor of the Soweto church, showing more of how Kairos West LA's special offering was used during this time of drought and famine.
"My dear brothers and sisters in Kairos West LA!
Praise the Lord. This is to inform you to continue praying for us here in Turkana land. The drought is continuing to bite but I thank God that he is able to provide through his people and other humanitarian relief aid. I would like again on behalf of Pentecostal Holiness church Soweto to thank you for the special offering which you sent to us last month. It has enabled us to purchase some food stuffs for the special people who were really in need in the surroundings of Lodwar town and also we were able to target the sick people and the old people. We are seeing some clouds and am not sure when it will rain next. Attached are pictures of the food stuffs that we bought for the local and hungry people in the bush.
Ahsante sana. Thank you to all that were able to give.
Praying for you"

Sixty Families Blessed by Food Distribution 06/29/2011
This past month has been one of trials and one of hope. Drought and famine still weave through the community in Lodwar, forcing families to stretch even more an already inadequate amount of food. But by the grace of God, spirits remain high as our brothers and sisters continue the work of bringing orphaned children into their homes, showing them love and giving them the stability that comes from being part of not just their family, but God's.
Our church in Santa Monica (Kairos West LA) collected a special offering from our members, asking them to dig deep so that we could bless the people in Lodwar with much-needed food supplies, and we were absolutely blown away by their generous response, which was $1,341.00.
With this, Pastor Joshua of the Soweto church was able to provide extra food and supplies for 60 families in The Unembraced program, and he was kind enough to send some photos from the joyous event our way.

This past Saturday we had our first benefit concert thanks to an amazing initiative going on at the Kairos Hollywood church called Artist @ the Fountain. We had two musical groups donate their time and talent for any absolutely amazing night of fun and fellowship, with all proceeds from tickets, merchandise and concessions going to help the precious orphans in Lodwar, Kenya.
Thank you to everyone who helped set up and run the event, to those of you who came to support us, and to the artists for an unforgettable night! Below are a few pictures from the event. To see more, check out our Facebook page (click on the icon in the right column of this page).

Praise the Lord, thus far the Lord has brought us. As you can see in the pictures, I brought these kids right in from the streets of Lodwar, and right now they are attending a boarding school at Nadapal Pry. The church is hosting them during holidays and gives them tender love and care since they were residing in the streets. Continue praying with us for these kids so that God can give them a direction in life and develop their love for God. I am not seeing orphans here; instead, I am seeing the future leaders of this country and beyond. Thank you for visiting our website!
